Applying to McAuley

Catherine McAuley High School offers two application options for admission—Early Decision and Regular Decision. The Early Decision application process is for those applicants who know that McAuley is their #1 high school choice and, if accepted, will definitely enroll. The Regular Decision application process is for those applicants who are still unsure of which high school they want to attend. Deadlines differ for the two processes.

Early Decision:  Applicants must take the first exam scheduled for Saturday, October 25; Applicants who do not take the first placement exam will be assigned automatically to the Regular Decision pool of applicants. The Deadline for early decision applicants is December 6.

Regular Decision:Applicants may take the entrance exam on either Saturday, December 6th or Saturday January 10. Applicants may shadow in the fall starting Wednesday, October 25.

Incoming Freshman

• Applicants for the 9th grade are required to do the following
• Take the Cooperative Admission Examination.
• Be a McAuley Girl for the Day
• Complete the CMHS Application with the $50 application fee.
• Submit the Guidance Record Release form to sending school.
• Have a final Interview with Sister Edward Mary

Transfer Students

Parents should call the Admissions Office to begin the transfer process. Application for upperclassmen will be given consideration if there are vacancies in required courses.

Students must be in good standing. Transfer students are admitted on the same selective basis as incoming freshmen. An interview will be arranged upon receipt of the student’s transcript. Transfer Applicants are required to do the following:

• Be a McAuley Girl for the Day
• Send three recommendations from current teachers (English, Math and one other)
• Give the Transcript Release form to current school
• Have a final Interview with Sister Edward Mary

Application Fee

Fee is required for all submitted applications. The $50.00 application fee will be submitted to the Catherine McAuley Admission Office. We currently have two payment options:
